gor.bio wiki

Privacy

This page describes what gor.bio actually records and processes. The implementation is intentionally simple: there are no accounts, no advertising and no third-party trackers other than Google Analytics 4, which measures aggregate traffic and sets two optional cookies (_ga and _ga_ERCXJSMTHW).

Server logs

The hosting provider (Namecheap) records standard access logs, which typically include the visitor's IP address, user agent, requested URL, response status, and timestamps. These logs exist for security, diagnostics, and abuse response. gor.bio itself does not run its own log retention; retention follows the hosting provider's practices.

Cloudflare

gor.bio is served through Cloudflare, which receives request metadata (including IP addresses) to route, cache, and protect traffic. Cloudflare's own privacy policy applies to that processing. Cloudflare serves cached copies of public pages, so many requests never reach the origin server at all.

Search queries are sent to the server to return results. Query strings appear in the URL and may appear in hosting logs, browser history and bookmarks. Use non-sensitive search terms.

The site caches search results in local files and stores short-lived request counters under a hash derived from the connecting IP address to limit repeated searches. These are operational records, not reader accounts. The implementation periodically removes stale cache and counter files.

Images and external products

Some articles load an illustration from Wikimedia Commons. Your browser contacts that image host when it loads the image, so that host receives the associated request metadata. Product covers and site fonts are hosted on gor.bio.

Book and toolkit links open external Gumroad listings. gor.bio does not process those purchases; the seller and payment platform describe their own data handling and purchase terms.

Reader accounts and tracking

There are no reader accounts or site-set cookies. The site loads Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) to count visits in aggregate; it receives the pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, the referrer and a random identifier kept in two optional cookies, which you can block in your browser or with Google's opt-out add-on. There is no advertising script. The hosting, Cloudflare and search processing described above still involve request data. If the implementation changes, this page will be updated to describe it.
